Description:

For our client, we are currently searching to cover a position of - QC Engineer - project, an employment form: freelance contract based.

Only candidates with the required experience will be taken into consideration.

Requirements:

Organisational position: Report to QC Manager – project

Has close cooperation with: 

  • project team 
  • QC engineers in the different plants 
  • QC engineers of subcontractors 

Leads a project quality team, depending on the complexity consisting of: 

  • QC – inspectors (technologist) 
  • Welding engineer (RWE) 
  • Protective coating experts (CPREx) 

Mission: Is awarded to a project team in which he/she is responsible for organising and coordinating all project quality related tasks. 

 

Specific function description: 
Preparation of project specific quality documents:  

  • Examining/studying contractual customer specifications and applicable standards regarding project quality related tasks. 
  • Checking our standard Smulders procedures against the contractual customer’s requirements. 
  • Organise together with quality project team the preparation and the necessary steps to obtain the approval of the required project documents.  

Monitoring the implementation of the approved quality documents in the organisation, by:  

  • Organise kick-off quality meetings at all involved production locations and main subcontractors. 
  • General supervision that the product quality at the various production sites and during all production steps is in conformity with the approved ITP / procedures and with the most cost-effective work method. 
  • Follow that all prescribed inspections are carried out in due time. 
  • Organise timely notifications for inspections.
  • Monitoring release notes of the different production locations and the quality documentation.  

Monitoring the correct qualifications of the project specific operators, such as:  

  • Welders 
  • Protective coaters 
  • NDT operators 

Solving of quality issues, by:  

  • Checking in cooperation with QA department all project CAR’s and NCR’s. 
  • Checking that all project NCR’s are timely closed.  

As built documentation:  

  • Ensures that the as-built documentation is timely finished and signed for acceptance by all involved parties

Function requirements: 

Diploma: 

  • Master or equivalent 
  • Welding Engineer EWE or IWE 
  • Language skills: English (excellent in spoken and written English)

Experience: 

  • Preferably at least 5 years’ experience in inspection and welding technology.

Personal characteristics: 

  • Team player 
  • Good practical insight 
  • Strong analytical ability 
  • Strong in administration and reporting 
  • Good in communication with inspectors of customer and certification body 
  • Aware of budget and cost
