Hong Kong, SAR, China (19 November 2013) – China Maritime is returning to Hong Kong February 18-19, 2014, with an all-new appearance. The worldwide resources of leaded UK-headquartered event organiser ITE have come to the forefront in organising the latest edition of the region’s foremost exhibition and conference dedicated to “all that works on water” for the Greater China region. Furthermore, great effort has gone into embracing 38 no. relevant industrial associations and media outlets in China. All in all, this has brought an extremely positive response to date from the regional maritime sector as evidenced by official support . The organiser anticipate an attendance of over 3,000 qualified visitors at the event.

 

International Maritime Summit – The most comprehensive conference of 2014

China Maritime 2014 will feature an extensive conference programme with three main tracks and over 30 presentations scheduled over its two-day duration.

Regulatory Requirements: How will the new regulations of the IMO and other regulatory bodies affect the industry and the ship-owners? Users and manufacturers will share their experiences regarding Ballast Water Technology / Fouling & Exhaust Gas Control , and LNG systems. Another meeting room will host presentations on Ferry operations and Ferry Safety. Also featured are sessions on Environmental & Regulatory, and Fuel Efficiency.

Crew Welfare is another topic that will be addressed in detail at the conference. This track will feature presentations covering Reducing Administrative Burdens on Ship Masters and Crew by the Nautical Institute and marine consultants.

Managing in the Shipping Industry is a third topic of high relevance to the maritime sector. Presentations in this track include Risk Assessment for Ships from an Insurance Perspective (by the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers), and Risk Assessment and Management (by Young Shipping Professionals)

The main event

The main event running parallel to this extensive conference programme is, needless to say, the China Maritime 2014 exhibition itself. On the show floor, attendees will have ample opportunities to interact with suppliers of numerous products and services relevant to the sector, including telecommunications and navigation, ballast water treatment, spare parts, shipbuilders, pump systems, engine and power systems, nautical charts, LNG systems, and exhaust gas monitoring devices.
