With your picture you won inspection tool. Could you describe a bit what was the situation about when the picture was taken?

The photo was taken in STX S/Y in South Korea, Jinhae , during morning patrolling . It was a mega block after erection on the move to skid-dock area for assembly. It was surprising to see the way how easy they were manoeuvering through the narrow space in the yard. The technology how they were building the vessel was surprising for me. Definitely new experience in positive way. I was there for 5 months like support for ballast tanks and finalization of the product. In the project during my stay one particular problem was on the table; stripe coating after full second coat . We corrected that after few meetings and overall job was done on satisfactory level .

• What is the background of you as Paint Inspector – how did you encounter that kind of job?

My carrier was started in maintenance sector in yacht charter fleet and after short time, I was decided that future is in this job but in shipbuilding , so I transfered to S/B and that was the only option at that time. After that period new options were on the horizon and in 2008 I started my free-lance carrier .

• Your projects make you travel all around the world. Where furthest from Croatia have you been?

I was working mostly in Far East, but some small project was done also in EU. In EU, someone was decided that shipbuilding is not on the top of the list like industry that we need to keep in Europe,so, 90% of jobs available are on East. I hope that I will get the chance to perform also in EU in next period.

• What do you like about your profession?

. In my profession the best thing is that you never get the same problem. Every day is new challenge waiting for you!

• Is there also something what you do not like?

Same things like in normal life, in work I don´t like lying and cheating .

• Where is your next project taking place?

My next project will take place in Hyundai MIPO Dockyard, Ulsan, Korea South for next one year. So, again Far East.
